It Started With a Helmet

Available Summer 2021 – The amazing, true story of an FDNY press secretary, Jerry Sanford, who retired and moved to Naples, Florida. Months into retirement he found himself employed again at a North Naples Fire Control and Rescue District. The chief brought him to a local firehouse that had come into possession of an early 1900s antique fire helmet. By an amazing coincidence the fire helmet was presented back to the FDNY fire house in the Bronx the day before 9/11 … September 11th, 2001. Jerry then volunteered and went back to work as a press secretary for the FDNY after the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center.
